10 Things To Do In Toronto Islands

The Toronto Island Park (more commonly known as Toronto Islands or the Island) is just 13 minutes away by ferry from downtown Toronto. It is a chain of 15 small islands with three major islands called the Centre Island, Ward’s Island, and Algonquin Island.
There are so many exciting things that you can do and see around the island that you may need more than just a day to explore everything. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a good escape from the city chaos and take a mini-vacation, the island is one of the best choices out there.
Here are 10 things that you can do and see in Toronto Islands:
01 | Visit the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse
Take a day trip to Gibraltar Point to see the historic Gibraltar Point Lighthouse. It is accessible on foot or by bicycle from the Centre Island or Hanlan’s Point ferry docks. Many people say that this stone tower is haunted. Built in 1808, Gibraltar Point Lighthouse is actually the oldest lighthouse situated on the Great Lakes.
02 | Take a Swan Ride
A pedal boat ride is a perfect choice if you want to do something relaxing but exciting at the same time. You can rent pedal boats from the Boat House not so far from the Centreville Amusement Park. If you’re an animal lover, don’t miss the Far Enough Farm situated on the east side of Centreville Amusement Park. Originally established in 1959, Far Enough Farm has 40 different species of farm animals and exotic birds. It is also open all year round, and there’s no admission fee.
06 | Go skinny-dipping
If you’re up for it, skip the tan lines and spend a day at Hanlan’s Point Beach — the one and only clothing-optional beach in Toronto. There are two sections of this beach: the clothing optional and a regular beach. You have your total freedom to choose the right section for you. No pressure!
